Structuring the handover. Preserving the human element
A rigorous method for a successful transition
At Binôme+, we support Swiss companies through key moments of transition: transfer of responsibilities, succession, retirement, or changes in leadership. Our approach combines methodological structure and human support to ensure effective, sustainable, and meaningful transitions. Our service is based on four key stages, adaptable to each company’s size, culture, and specific challenges:
Personalized diagnostic
Before any implementation, we identify the issues particular to your company:
- Which responsibilities need to be passed on?
- What knowledge or networks are at risk of disappearing?
- Who are the critical profiles?
This stage includes targeted interviews, mapping of knowledge, and an assessment of organisational maturity in the face of change.
Strategic pairing (“binômes”)
We form structured intergenerational duos, pairing an experienced employee with a designated successor or future leader. Each pair is supported through a progressive transfer logic: observation, temporary shared responsibility, reverse mentorship if needed. Every pair is tailor-made, considering roles, objectives, professional affinities, and observed human dynamics.
Active and neutral supervision
An external supervisor follows the progress of the pair over several months, according to an established protocol. They act as guarantor of the process, facilitator of communication, and mediator in case of tension. Regular reports are submitted to management or the outgoing leader, ensuring clarity, transparency, and traceability of the transfer.
Securing the transition
We validate the acquired competences (knowledge, behaviours, decisions), consolidate practices, and formalize key learnings. This phase often includes:
- Documenting the transmitted processes
- Stage reviews at 3, 6, and 12 months
- Reviews of roles and responsibilities
- Symbolic rituals of passage
