Our external methodological framework brings the necessary neutrality at this crucial moment for the company’s future.
For whom?
This solution is aimed at SME owners who are considering transferring their company to a family member (son, daughter, nephew, niece …) or to a trusted internal collaborator. These situations are common, but too often they fail or stall because of a lack of clear framework, unspoken issues, or emotional tensions.
The human stakes
Transferring a business is not just a legal operation. It is a moment of identity shift. Passing on one’s business is much more than a legal or financial act; it is a strong, personal gesture that touches identity, recognition, and emotional connection. The outgoing owner may feel both pride and fear: fear of letting go, being forgotten, no longer having a place.
On the other hand, the successor may feel overwhelmed by responsibility, torn between loyalty and a desire to assert their own style.
Our approach
Binôme+ establishes a supervised pairing between the successor (often younger or less experienced) and an external senior manager. This manager has no hierarchical ties to the outgoing owner and serves as strategic tutor, coach, and sparring partner throughout the transition phase (6 to 18 months).
They support the successor in their initial managerial and strategic decisions, help them position themselves in the company, to take ownership of their role, and to avoid the classic mistakes at the beginning.
A neutral supervisor ensures the proper running of the arrangement, coordinates the transition milestones, and guarantees regular feedback—especially through periodic reports submitted to the outgoing owner to inform them of progress, while respecting the autonomy of the pairing.
